Minister of State for Public Health Frank Feighan has welcomed a significant drop in Leitrim's Covid-19 incidence rate in the last number of days.
The figure was at 81.1 per 100,000 last week, but as of today, is now just above 34 - half of the national average.
The Fine Gael TD says while it is unlikely that Level Three restrictions will now be implemented in Leitrim, people cannot afford to become complacent.
The 14-day covid incidence rate in one area of Dublin has reached over 200 cases per 100 thousand population.
Dublin North West currently has an incidence rate of 204.7 over the last 14 days - with 425 new cases identified in that time frame.
Over 1800 cases has been reported in the capital over the last two weeks giving an incidence race of 138, nearly double that of the national rate.
Meanwhile in Donegal, its 14-day incidence rate jumped from 72.9 on Friday to 96.7 yesterday.
Louth is at 101.1, meaning it is the only county aside from Dublin to be over 100.
Waterford's incidence rate stands at 93.8.
