Environment Minister Eamon Ryan has said his Department will look at the possibility of waiving the "local contribution" requirement for projects which were given grants under the Just Transition Fund last year.
The Green Party leader visited Offaly today with the Taoiseach where they attended the announcement of details of over 1,400 jobs which Bord Na Mona says are being created in the midlands.
Bord Na Mona recently unveiled its new brand identity as a climate solutions company and says that it will continue to be a leading employer in the midlands in the future through renewable energy, recycling, peatland rehabilitation and sustainable product development.
Minister Ryan met this afternoon with representatives of groups across the midlands and said the issue of Just Transition funds had been raised:
