Minister of State Niall Collins will officially open the inaugural Suck Valley Way conference in Roscommon town this evening.
The event has been organised by the Suck Valley Development Co-op chaired by Roscommon councillor Tony Waldron.
A range of speakers will talk about opportunities for tourism, enterprise, recreation, sport, for the counties involved in the region over the coming years.
The area takes in Roscommon and Galway and councillors from both counties have been invited to attend, as well as local groups.
Some of the keynote speakers for the event include Paddy Mathews from Failte Ireland, businessman Declan Ganley and Dr Karen Keavney, Head of Subject for Rural Development at UCD.
