A Leitrim County Councillor is calling on the new Minister of Forestry to bring state bodies together to tackle the issue of problem forestry and their effect on power lines. Councillor Enda McGloin says that last week's meeting of concerned citizens in Ballinamore highlighted the human cost of the power outages caused by fallen trees after high winds. He believes that the new Government must address the issue as a matter of urgency.
