Minister Dara Calleary will arrive at the scene of Sunday's fire in the town centre shortly to examine the damage.

Councillors and businesses will present a unified call for help to the Junior Enterprise Minister this afternoon in the aftermath of the Longford fire. Minister Dara Calleary will arrive at the scene of Sunday's fire in the town centre shortly to examine the damage before attending a meeting at Longford County Council. He's expected to meet with business owners from Grafton Court at the Council Offices where they are expected to call for Government and humanitarian aid.

13 businesses have been closed by the fire with close to 60 people out of work. Pedestrian access has been restored on one side of the street allowing a number of businesses across the street to reopen. Leas Cathaoirleach of Longford County Council Peggy Nolan will chair this afternoon's meeting. She's hopeful Minister Calleary won't come empty handed:
