Modular refugee housing ruled out for Boyle and Roscommon Town

Controversial plans for modular homes for refugees in Roscommon town and Boyle have been ruled out.

The Local Government Management Agency has said the sites are not appropriately zoned and won't go ahead.

But plans for 47 modular homes in Ballaghaderreen, for over 200 refugees, are still being considered.

The proposals for all three towns had been opposed locally because of a lack of resources.

Jane Suffin, from Boyle Concerned Locals, says the campaign will continue.
