Mohill claimed the 2020 Leitrim senior football with a third-quarter performance which saw them beat St. Mary’s Kiltoghert 14 points to nine.
Keith Beirne landed eight points including, four frees as Mohill powered back from a half-time deficit to land the senior championship title.
Mary’s had lead six points to five at the break and looked more lively in the offense, a two Paul Keaney free and points from Daire Farrell, Alan Doherty helped St. Mary’s to their lead.
Mohill sent over six unanswered points after the restart to turn the tables on their rivals, with Beirne getting three of them.
Beirne levelled with a free before Shane Quinn edged Mohill ahead five minutes later, then Beirne sent over from a free and a score from play while Quinn and Domhnaill Flynn added scores as Mohill shut out the St. Mary’s restarts.
Mary’s rallied in the final stages to bring the game back to a four point difference, but Mohill had too much experience and were able to run the clock down as they won 14 points to nine.
