Mohill Councillor Thomas Mulligan says he believes the vast majority of people in the town will be happy with amended public realm plans which are on view this week.
The Fine Gael Councillor was joined by councillors Enda Stenson and Sean Mc Gowan at a building on lower Main Street from 2 to 4 today to allow members of the public a chance to see the modified plans.
Original proposals for the paths, car parking spaces and traffic flow around the town caused major controversy some weeks ago and a vote on the plan was delayed.
The councillors have been told the usual methods of displaying the plans aren't available due to Covid restrictions, so local members decided to make themselves available for a couple of hours, today, tomorrow and Saturday for people to ask questions.
Councillor Mulligan says he's hopeful that people's concerns will be put to rest:
