A Longford woman who's daughter suffers with Cystic Fibrosis is calling on the HSE to re-evaluate its priority list for Covid-19 vaccinations.
CF patients are currently ranked as 7th on the list of 15 priority categories to receive a vaccine.
Hazel Robinson from Longford Town says that the inclusion of cystic fibrosis patients in the 7th category is inconsistent with the HSE's designation of extremely vulnerable patients.
She is arguing that CF patients should be part of the 3rd cohort of vaccinations due to the high risk the virus poses to them.
That's been echoed by Cystic Fibrosis Ireland who have called on the public to contact their local TDs and representatives in order to further the issue and make sure that those who suffer from the most severe forms of CF are given a higher priority.
