A motorist has been arrested by Longford Gardaí following a car chase that resulted in a collision in the town last night.
Local Gardaí pursued a vehicle that turned away from a checkpoint at approximately 8.40pm yesterday.
The vehicle subsequently collided with another car on the Dublin road near the Gala filling station minutes later.

No one was injured in the incident and a man in his 30s was arrested and taken to Longford Garda Station, but was later released pending further investigations.
