A Motorist in Longford is counting the cost after they were stopped for speeding by the local Road's Policing Unit.
Gardaí recorded a the driver travelling at double the legal speed limit in a School zone late last week.
The speed limit for the area around a school is 50 kilometres an hour, with Gardaí urging motorists to abide by it in order to safeguard children.
Local Gardaí clocked the driver at 98 kph.
They stopped the vehicle and issued the driver a €160 fine and three penalty points.
