The Gardai and Irish Rail are investigating the circumstances surrounding a breach of a railway crossing in Roscommon earlier today.
A truck crashed through both barriers as they were being lowered on the N60 between Oran and Ballymoe just after 10 o'clock this morning.
While the train had not approached the crossing at the time of the incident, it caused up to 60 minutes of delays to rail services on the Wesport Dublin route with motorists also impacted.
Delays to services to & from Westport, due to this incident, which occurred at Bellacagher, Roscommon this morning. We appeal to all road users to act safely at level crossings. #staysafe pic.twitter.com/0YvrI9zeMN
