Temperatures at Mount Dillon on the Longford/Roscommon border, and at Ballyhaise in Cavan reached a high of 31 degrees this afternoon, while a temperature of 30 was recorded at Mullingar.
The hot weather is expected to come to an abrupt end tomorrow with heavy rain predicted for many parts of the country.
