The man in his 30s was found on Grove Street in Mullingar in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Bryonny Sainsbury died days after she was injured by her horse, with significant issues found with her medical care at Mullingar Hospital.

A decision is expected to be made by February 2025.

Gardaí say they discovered the man with serious injuries on Grove Street.

Both occupants of the vehicle were transferred to the Midlands Regional Hospital in Mullingar, where a man remains in a serious condition.

Local diversions are in place as Gardaí conduct a Forensic Collision investigation.

The judge praised the "massive" and "painstaking" investigation by an Garda Siochána that led to their arrest.
