A local A&E has been described as 'pathetic' and 'not fit for purpose.'
The comment comes from an elderly local following her recent visit to the emergency department at Mullingar Hospital. In a letter sent to the station, she expressed her disappointment at the extremely long waiting times at the department, ranging from 7 to 10 hours per patient.
Leslie O'Hora is a Leitrim representative for the Green Party. Speaking on the Joe Finnegan Show this morning, he explained that more infrastructure is needed to combat the long waiting times.
