A temporary Mullingar walk-in Covid-19 test centre is to continue its operations for the foreseeable future.
The centre at St Loman's Hospital, Mullingar was set up last week in order to test for Asymptomatic people in the community in order to limit the unwitting spread of the virus.
849 people have attended the walk-in centre over the last 7 days, the majority between the ages of 41 to 60, with 19 Asymptomatic cases of the virus identified.
The HSE has now decided to extend the operational lifespan of the testing facility and use it as a model for the further roll-out of walk-in test centres in the region and nationwide.
