Mullingar Hospital in 'escalation' due to high numbers in ED

The emergency department at Mullingar University Hospital is extremely busy this morning.

Management at the hospital are asking the public not to attend the emergency room but instead consider other options.

There is pressure on bed availability in the hospital with 14 patients on trollies.

In a statement the hospital says teams are working to manage the current Adult In-Patient and Covid-19 Bed Capacity together with Scheduled Care.
