Management at Mullingar Hospital have acknowledged that improvements are needed at the Midlands Regional health facility.
The Hospital was the subject of a HIQA inspection in December last year that highlighted numerous issues caused by overcrowding in the ED.
The report found that the privacy and dignity of patients on trolleys and chairs in the Emergency Department has been severely compromised.
In a statement to Shannonside Fm news, Management welcomed the strong positive feedback on the provision of care by staff.
They've confirmed that quality improvement plans are in place and they will continue to work with HIQA to address problem areas.
