The management of the Midlands Regional Hospital in Mullingar is warning the public that they are experiencing delays as a number of people are presenting with non-Covid 19 illnesses..
The hospital is asking the public to consider their care options as the hospital and its emergency department remains very busy.
They are advising that visitors should only attend the hospital ED if absolutely necessary and to not bring children, but they are assuring people that anyone seriously injured or ill will be assessed and treated as a priority.
According to the INMO's trolleywatch earlier today, 21 people were waiting for a hospital bed at Mullingar this morning - 24 at University Hospital Galway, 16 in Sligo Hospital, 10 in Tullamore hospital, and six at our lady of Lourdes in Drogheda.
