A substantial grant is expected for the route in this year's TII roads announcement it emerged today.

The protest, titled, "Global Kites for Palestine," is to involve the flying of kites to support those suffering in the conflict.

The project would cover a total site area of 9.3 hectares at Newdown, The Downs, in Mullingar.

A man in his 50s was injured in the incident and brought to Beaumont Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.
