Shannonside MEP Ciaran Mullooly has ruled out running in the next general election. The Ballyleague/Lanesboro man was elected to the European Parliament last month for Independent Ireland, which includes TD Michael Fitzmaurice.
There has been speculation Mullooly will run in the Roscommon-Galway constituency in the forthcoming general election - with Fitzmaurice moving to Galway East. But Mullooly says it won't be happening:
