She was found strangled in a bath at a hotel in Mauritius 12 days after her wedding.

Two hotel workers were tried for her murder in 2012, but were acquitted in a case her husband described as a "kangaroo court".

The decision for the Mauritian government to reconsider the case was announced by Northern Ireland's First Minister Arlene Foster and Deputy First Minister Michelle O'Neill.

Ms O'Neill said in a statement

"Michaela deserves justice and the very least her family deserve is truth. No stone should be left unturned in pursuing that."
