Senator Eugene Murphy has urged Fianna Fáil to add him to their general election ticket in Roscommon-Galway.
He lost out by eight votes to Dr Martin Daly at last night’s selection convention in the Abbey Hotel.
Fianna Fáil decided to select only one candidate for the forthcoming election with many calls from local delegates asking for a two-candidate strategy.
