An emotional tribute was paid to Roscommon councillor Anthony Waldron on the opening day of the new Seanad today.
The 64-year-old was found dead at his home in Ballintubber last Sunday morning.
His remains will repose at the Old School House in Ballintubber tomorrow between 4 o’clock and 7 o’clock, ahead of his funeral in the village on Friday.
Fine Gael senator Gareth Scahill, from Castlerea, spoke about his death in his first Seanad contribution.
In his first contribution, Fine Gael’s Paraic Brady, from Longford, said agriculture would be his priority as a senator.
