An upgrade to the N4 Dublin to Sligo road has been hailed as a potential game-changer for the northwest region.
The Collooney to Castlebaldwin stretch of the N4 was one of the most dangerous roads in Ireland, with dozens of people killed in accidents over the past 30 years.
