A south Roscommon councillor says he's hugely disappointed with the lack of progress over the years on road safety improvements along the N61.
Councillor John Keogh was commenting following the refusal of Transport Infrastructure Ireland to meet with local Municipal District members about their concerns.
The statutory body has said it isn't in a position to meet with individual MD's but may be willing to meet representatives from the full county council.
Councillor Keogh says he and other local councillors have been trying in vain for several years now to get something done to make the road between Athlone and Roscommon safer for users, and he's not happy with the lack of respect shown by TII to such a serious matter.
