Over 6,000 homes and businesses in the Shannonside region are due to be connected to high speed Internet shortly.
An update from the National Broadband Plan has confirmed the 6,300 premises will be free to order broadband in the coming months.
40,000 connection points have been identified in intervention areas in Longford, Leitrim and Roscommon following a national survey.
According to the NBI, crews have made substantial progress in Longford where 3,058 premises are due for connection to the national network.
The homes and businesses included will be in the county town and nearby townlands and villages.
A Combined 3,300 connections are due to go live in Roscommon and Leitrim, in the areas and villages surrounding Carrick on Shannon.
Roscommon and Leitrim are set to receive 76 million euro and 46 million euro respectively in state investment by the end of all works, while Longford will see 34 million euro in upgrades.
559,000 premises nationwide are included in areas where commercial operators are not currently providing access to high-speed broadband or do not intend to.
