The National Famine-Way Commemorative Walk begins today in Strokestown, in honour of the journey taken by victims of the Great Hunger.
The trek takes place over 6 days beginning at the National Famine Museum in Roscommon to the EPIC Museum in Dublin, a journey of 165 kilometres.
It will be led by the Ambassador of Ireland to Canada, Eamonn McKee and representatives of the Liverpool Irish Famine Trail.
