New accessible bathroom to open in Athlone next month

Westmeath County Council will officially open a new accessible bathroom facility in Athlone next month.

The new Changing Places unit will be unveiled on the 15th of April at Athlone Civic Centre. A Changing Places bathroom has been in use at the building on Church Street since early March. These toilets offer increased space and a specialised design for people with additional needs. Features include an adjustable height changing bench, adjustable wash basins, a hoist system, a wall-mounted privacy screen and a colostomy shelf.
