A new bus service connecting Athlone to two towns in Tipperary will hit the roads this morning.
TFI Local Link Laois Offaly is providing the service from Athlone to Roscrea and Thurles.
The new bus service is part of the Connecting Ireland Rural Mobility Plan. a national initiative sponsored by the National Transport Authority that aims to improve connectivity between Irish towns.
The bus service will link Athlone with Roscrea and Thurles, and is launching today.
Route 850 by TFI Local Link Laois Offaly will operate six daily returns services, seven days a week, linking Athlone to Roscrea as well as four additional daily return trips on Sunday to Templemore and Thurles.
The bus will also provide services connected to TUS Athlone campuses.
Leap, TFI Go, and the Free Travel Pass can be used on the new bus route.
