A new book hopes to change the perception of the level of resistance to crown forces in rural Ireland in the early 20th century.
Mohill native, Dr Patrick McGarty has researched the activities of republicans in County Leitrim during the Irish Revolution of 1912 to 1923.
He says there is an over emphasis on the major events in Cork, Limerick, Tipperary and Dublin but not the low level but continuous opposition in other counties.
