Sales of new cars across the Shannonside region have increased since last year.
The latest report from the Society of the Irish Motor Industry shows that sales of electric cars are also on the increase.
A total of 1,376 cars have been sold so far this year in Longford, Leitrim, and Roscommon.
This compares with the 2022 figure of 1,231, an increase of 145. New registrations in Roscommon have increased from 624 in the first half of last year to 737 this year.
It's also the county with the most amount of new electric cars registered at 90, an increase from 49 this time last year. Longford remains unchanged at 341 new cars sold, but electric cars have increased from 27 in 2022 to 46 in 2023
While in Leitrim, 298 new cars have been registered so far in 2023, up from 266 on the same time last year. 39 of those cars are electric, also an increase from 2022's figure of 26.
Nationally, 77,488 new cars have been sold so far this year. This represents an 18% increase on the same time last year
