New Cathaoirligh in the three Roscommon Municipal Districts were elected earlier today. Leas Cathaoirligh were also elected at the three respective AGMs in Áras an Chontae. Newly elected Fianna Fáil councillor Larry Brennan was elected as the new Cathaorleach in the Roscommon Muncipal District. His party colleague and second-term councillor Marty McDermott was elected as Leas Cathaoirleach.
In Athlone, Fianna Fáil Councillor and former Cathaoirleach of the County Council John Keogh is the new Municipal District Chairperson. He will be supported by Fine Gael councillor Domnick Connolly as Leas Cathaoirleach following his dramatic return to local politics.
Finally in Boyle, Independent Councillor Tom Crosby is the new Cathaoirleach of the MD. Fianna Fáil newcomer Sean Moylan has been elected as Leas Cathaoirleach there.
