The new CEO of Athlone Chamber is hoping he can be a positive voice for the business community in the town.
Tommy Hogan was appointed to the position this week to replace the outgoing CEO, Gerry McInerney.
Originally from Clara in Co. Offaly, Mr Hogan was managing director of Clara Fields for over 13 years.
Speaking about his new role, he says that businesses in Athlone are facing many challenges and he hopes the Chamber can continue to provide the necessary support.
"Businesses in the last number of years have had to deal with a range of challenges. We've had brexit, COVID, an ongoing war, price inflation, and now a potential banking crisis. I guess those are the challenges the Chamber will have to face along with all of our members. We share the burdens of our members and help them to work through these challenges. We won't be immune to many of these things"
