A new Ukrainian choir for children and adults has been formed in County Leitrim.
It comes on the back of an appeal for musical instruments by Elphin musician George Eggleston.
He appealed to people in recent weeks to donate old or unused musical instruments to refugees staying locally in Drumshanbo.
On receiving the instruments a choir was then set up with the help of a piano teacher who arrived from Ukraine.
The Elphin based musician says the support from the public has been fantastic and the music and singing will be a hugely positive outlet for Ukrainians living locally.
'I've had guitars of all shapes and sizes, electric guitars promised, fiddles, I'm waiting on a drum kit to be delivered to the hotel.
If we didn't have Riverdance, people wouldn't be dancing all over the world now and it's the same for the Ukrainians, they have their traditions and their dancing and they should be encouraged to continue that in their traditional fashion.'
