An innovative new creative community project highlighting positive mental health will be launched in Roscommon later this afternoon.
The Creative Community Collective is a collection of works by local community groups from across the county highlighting Positive Mental Health, Recovery and Hope.
The works have been submitted by local men's sheds, young carers groups and community organisations.
The project is part of the wider First Fortnight Festival, a national mental health and cultural festival run by a charity of the same name.
The group aims to challenge mental health prejudice through arts and culture.
The Roscommon Creative Community Collection will launch this afternoon at 3pm at Roscommon Library, with the exhibition open to Friday.
Mary Smyth Public Art & Engagement Coordinator with Roscommon County Council says it will be wonderful to bring the groups together.
"So the themes, what keeps everything consistent across the exhibition, is this theme of positive mental health, recovery, and hope. So they're the themes of this year's First Fortnight festival. I spoke with some of the organisations and they would have been told about the themes and they responded with how they might work. There's a lovely piece from Plunkett and they've done this plastic piece with quotes about what hope means for some of the residents, and they've put them in the rays of the sun. So, very different pieces".
