The average weekly wage in the Shannonside region is trending upwards according to new data.
A report from the Central Statistics Office calculates the average wage in 2022 at €735 across Longford, Leitrim, Roscommon, and Westmeath.
According to data from the CSO, the average weekly income in the Shannonside region increased from €703 to €735 between 2021 and 2022.
The highest income was in Westmeath at €782.60, up from €740.22 the previous year.
Roscommon had an average weekly wage of €744.86, an increase from €719.04 in 2021.
While in Leitrim, a person could expect to earn €717.15 per week in 2022, compared to €687.60 in 2021.
Longford had the 3rd lowest weekly income nationally at €697.84.
The lowest weekly wage in the country was in Donegal, at €649.91 while the highest was in Dublin at €1.013.76
