Drumshanbo is the largest town in Leitrim outside of Carrick on Shannon according to new Census figures.
The data released this week from the Central Statistics officer breaks down population and gender across the region's towns.
Unsurprisingly, Carrick on Shannon has the highest population in the county with 4,743 people registered as living within the town boundary as of last year.
That's broken down into 2,310 men and 2,433 women with an average of 906 people per square kilometre in the town.
That's followed by Drumshanbo, where last year's census shows 1,240 are living in the town, with 660 women and 580 men recorded living locally.
Following close on the heels of Drumshanbo, Mohill has 503 men and 524 women living locally for a total of 1,027 people.
Drumod and Leitrim villages recorded similar numbers to each other, with 753 and 701 people respectively living locally.
Overall, as of 2022, Leitrim has a population of 35,200, almost evenly distributed between sexes, with less than one hundred more women than men.
