Two local museums are to benefit from new funding announced by the government earlier last week.
Culture Minister Catherine Martin approved over 170 thousand euro in funding for local and regional museums.
Museums in Strokestown, Co. Roscommon, and Monaghan are to receive 15 thousand euro respectively.
A new exhibition displaying the foods prepared for and served to the gentry in 18th Century Ireland is to be financed in Strokestown Park and National Famine Museum with the funding.
Monaghan County Museum is to avail of the funding to establish a new multi-themed exhibition with a focus on facilitating dialogue between disparate communities in the county.
