Irish Rail has announced a new timetable for the Galway-Dublin Heuston service. Up to five additional weekday services on the Galway/Heuston route has been announced including an early 5.45am service leaving Dublin. As part of the new timetable there will also be an additional late service leaving both Heuston and Galway at 8.30 and 8.50 respectively.
The news will come as a boost to many in the Shannonside region with Athlone included as a stop on all Galway/Heuston services. The timetable is set to come into effect from the 26th of August. Barry Kenny from Irish Rail says with the All-Island rail plan, services will expand further:
