A new local link service connecting Roscommon with Galway is launching today.
The new 546 Castlerea to Ballinasloe service will operate three times a day in each direction and service areas including Williamstown, Glenamaddy. and Ahascragh en-route.
The bus will run seven days a week and provide improved connectivity to regional bus and rail services at Castlerea.
TFI Local Link Galway Manager, Joe Greally, says that the new route will provide a vital service to rural communities.
It's a vital link especially in the current environment where we trying to promote public transport and asking people to leave their cars at home.
Before this there wasn't a viable option but now people in these areas have an option to help support them to get to work, to school, socialising or shopping.
It's very exciting and we're very excited to see what will happen over the next couple of months
