The prevalence of gambling in Ireland is rapidly growing.
That's according to Amy Kelly, a psychiatrist at Boyle family resource centre who says Covid-19 and easy online accessibility has increased the numbers.
The Gambling Awareness Trust have today launched a new free support service for Roscommon, Leitrim and Sligo.
It provides a confidential counselling service to those with a gambling addiction and their families.
It will also conduct a number of workshops to educate young students in local schools about the impacts of a gambling habit.
Speaking following the launch Amy is encouraging people to use the service.
"Any phone call I get in, any email, any session, all are completely confidential and it's free. I'd encourage anyone to make that phone call or send that email s. It's a very community-based service and very important that people feel supported within their community and resource centres very much have an open door policy and all are welcome."
