An emotional tribute was paid to Roscommon councillor Anthony Waldron on the opening day of the new Seanad yesterday. The 64-year-old was found dead at his home in Ballintubber last Sunday morning.
His remains will repose at the Old School House in Ballintubber today between 4 o'clock and 7 o'clock, ahead of his funeral in the village tomorrow. Fine Gael senator Gareth Scahill, from Castlerea, spoke about his death in his first Seanad contribution:
