The near completed streetscape works in Roscommon will ensure the town is accessible to all.
That's according to Independent Councillor Kathleen Shanagher who says those who face mobility issues will now find it much easier to navigate without obstacles.
She hopes the town centre will become a safe place for pedestrians and cyclists with drivers encouraged to park in the nearby car parks.
The public realm works, which began in March 2021 include a revised traffic layout at Main Street and the Square, new wider granite footpaths on Main Street, upgraded links to carparks and lighting, as well as new shared spaces.
Speaking to Shannonside Northern Sound Councillor Shanagher says there's been positive feedback on the improvements.
