More boutique-type accommodation is needed in Carrick-on-Shannon to reduce the over-reliance on the hen and stag party market.
That's according to the town's draft local area plan, which says Roscommon and Leitrim county councils will encourage the development of more high-end bed spaces.
There are currently three hotels in Carrick - the Landmark, the Bush and Cryan's.
