A new roof for the extensively fire-damaged building in Longford town will be in place early next month. It was destroyed in the blaze in July, closing 13 businesses in Grafton Court and causing millions of euro in damage. Co-owner of the building, Kevin Smith, says the replacement roof will be finished in around three weeks' time.
A lot of the rest of the work will depend on the businesses owners themselves, with many currently working with insurers. Stephen Olwell ran an opticians from Grafton Court and has moved to nearby Ballymahon Street:
