A proposed new rural transport plan for Leitrim is going to prioritise connectivity and integration of local services.
Local Link has issued tender documents for 15 fully accessible routes to operate to remote and rural areas of the county, on
various days, some 7 days a week, throughout the county for 52 weeks of the year.
That's up from just 7 routes that were in operation up until now.
Leitrim County Council is being asked to provide bus shelters and pull in spaces for passengers and to create access for buses in town and on secondary roads.
It's hoped the new services can be in operation by January next year.
