We don't know how many people may be living in apartments with "seriously dangers" defects when it comes to fire safety.
That's according to the Society of Chartered Surveyors which has given a cautious welcome to the introduction of the Interim Remediation Scheme to fund emergency works.
It's estimated up to 100 thousand apartments across the country could be compromised with fire safety defects and structural or water damage.
