The manager of the Bridgeway's Family Resource Centre in Ballymahon is warmly welcoming funding from CLAR for a new outdoor amenity.
The centre has been allocated almost €50,000 under the latest tranche of CLAR funding which aims to improve the lives of people in rural areas.
The resource centre in Ballymahon is getting almost €50,000 to create an outdoor area for use by young people who attend there.
Grace Kearney says young people have nowhere to go when the centre is closed, and this area will provide them with a safe gathering space.
"We're going to have an outdoor pool table, outdoor fitness equipment, outdoor seating, and bins and basically cameras and lights. So it will be a very safe area for young people and teenagers to congregate and hang out. In towns and cities around Ireland, young people are congregating anyway, so at least in Ballymahon they'll be able to do in a very safe environment under cameras and lights.
