No new Covid deaths have been reported in Longford since before the middle of October.
According to new figures from the CSO - the third wave of Covid cases peaked in the Shannonside region between Christmas day and the first of January.
New figures from the Central Statistics Office show a total of six-hundred cases ( 625) were recorded in Longford, Leitrim and Roscommon between December 25th and New Year's Day.
323 cases were in Roscommon, 170 in Longford and 132 in Leitrim.
The week after, the total number of cases had dropped to 558.
The week ending the 15th of January the total number of Covid cases across all three counties had dropped by half to 217.
There has been no Covid-related death in Longford in the last three months - while the total number of deaths in the county is eight.
Roscommon's death toll from Covid is 31 while Leitrim has recorded five Covid linked deaths since the beginning of the pandemic.
The virus claimed the lives of 163 more men than women up to and including the week ending 15 January. It also continues to impact the older age groups the hardest, with 63% of all confirmed COVID-19 deaths to date in the 80 years old or older age group.]
